Begin with a named source revision

Record the source filename and fingerprint before selecting material. A passage that cannot be tied to the reviewed transcript revision should not look current. Write the decision in plain language and retain the original source separately so the index can be audited against something outside the browser project.

Keep quotation and interpretation separate

Derive exact passage wording from selected segments. Store titles, summaries, topics, and editorial destinations as visibly human-authored fields. Review the result as a retrieval aid rather than a conclusion. Human-authored fields must remain visibly distinct from exact source-derived text.

Make retrieval another person's job

Test whether a fresh reader can find the passage, open its context, and reach the local-media time without relying on private memory. Carry the limitation into the frozen edition and passive handoff so a recipient can understand what was checked, what was not checked, and what remains their responsibility.
