Can selected passages become a small interview finding aid?
Yes. A time-linked index with titles, exact passages, context, topics, speakers, source fingerprint, access notes, and passive exports can improve local retrieval, while remaining distinct from a repository catalogue or public archive system.
State the collection boundary
One workroom represents one imported transcript revision and its user-authored context, not the completeness of an archive or collection. Write the decision in plain language and retain the original source separately so the index can be audited against something outside the browser project.
Keep access restrictions outside indexing logic
Record handling notes, but enforce repository permissions through the actual archival or institutional system. Review the result as a retrieval aid rather than a conclusion. Human-authored fields must remain visibly distinct from exact source-derived text.
Use appropriate standards separately
The workroom does not claim conformance with archival description, preservation metadata, controlled vocabularies, or repository submission formats. Carry the limitation into the frozen edition and passive handoff so a recipient can understand what was checked, what was not checked, and what remains their responsibility.
